The Gothenburg weather is quite uncertain in early June. In May we had a longer period with dry/sunny weather and temperatures around 15-20°C. The forecast for the next week says the weather will be a little more chilly with rain. In the city centre of Gothenburg we walk between destinations, so bring a jacket that can manage some rain. There is a 10 min walk from the Elite Park Avenue Hotel to the conference venue at Chalmers University of Technology, and about 25 min walk from the hotel to the Monday evening dinner (or about 15 min with the tram).
Getting here
The international airport Landvetter (GOT) is located 20 kilometres south-east of the city centre, with direct flight connections to all major hubs in Europe.
The cheapest (and easy) way to get from the airport to the hotels is to take the airport bus to ‘Göteborg’. It departures right outside the terminal. If you stay at the Comfort Hotel Panorama, then you step off at the first stop in Gothenburg (Korsvägen) and walk to the hotel from there. If you stay at Elite Park Avenue Hotel or Hotel Scandic Rubinen, then you step off at the second stop (Berzeliigatan) and walk from there. A bus ticket costs 129 SEK. A taxi is about 600 SEK.
You can also easily reach Gothenburg by train from the Scandinavian capitals Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.
